Caregiving for dementia patients is typically fractured across multiple family members, doctors, nurses, and other care team clinicians, making communication and coordination difficult and stressful.
We worked with the NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing to develop CareMobi. The goal was to improve transparency and empower caregivers with actionable insights by effortlessly facilitating care through tracking behavioural observations, medications, vitals, and other important events.

We interviewed stakeholders and domain experts to identify the key user groups and their goals, and then reviewed competitors to develop Caremobi’s unique product roadmap. We conducted an intensive and iterative design phase, developing key flows and validating solutions with multiple research studies.
In the brand ideation phase, we zeroed in on interconnectedness, empathy, and caring for our loved ones as core themes. We applied this to the visual identity by using a soft color palette, approachable typography, and soothing illustrations.
Any member on a patient’s care team can add a health update. To simplify the process and minimize cognitive load for caregivers, we used progressive disclosure. We start out with simple questions, and only prompt them for additional information when it’s relevant.

It was vital that caregiver onboarding was simple and clear, with as few barriers to entry as possible. Users can join the app, take a look around, and choose to join or set up a care team when they’re ready.

After the initial MVP launch, we kept hearing a common feature request: smart nutrition tracking. We developed a simple way for users to track daily nutrition using their camera and AI analysis.

In most care team settings, a dedicated professional is required to manage and track nutrition across all patients. Our AI-assisted nutrition feature frees up this individual to focus on more impactful caregiving work.

“The team at Input Logic helped us, as clinicians and technologists, understand and meet the needs of our end users (who don’t have our experience) and create an app that streamlines the complexities of caring for a person with chronic illness. Our users praise the app for its simplicity and ease of use — not to mention a gorgeous design scheme that is easy on the eyes!”
